handshake Platform Services Agreement
BetweenBreaks Pvt Ltd (“BetweenBreaks”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) provides an alumni engagement platform to educational institutions (each, an “Institution”) to help them connect with, and mobilise, their alumni network for internships, jobs, mentorship, guest lectures, events, and donations — through email, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, our website, and our App.
1 Acceptance of Terms
By accessing our website, registering on our App, or engaging with communications sent by us on behalf of an Institution, you (“User” or “you”) agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Services.
2 Our Role
BetweenBreaks acts as a technology and engagement partner for Institutions. We facilitate introductions and connections; we are not the employer, mentorship guarantor, or organiser of record for any opportunity or event. Unless expressly stated otherwise, the resulting relationship — whether an internship, job, mentorship, event, or donation — is between the alumnus and the Institution, employer, or other relevant third party.
3 Eligibility
- Institutions: Must be legitimate educational institutions authorised to engage BetweenBreaks.
- Alumni Users: Must be genuine alumni (or otherwise affiliated persons, such as faculty, where applicable) of a partner Institution, and at least 18 years of age.
4 The App and Account Registration
You agree to provide accurate and current information when registering on the App.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
You agree not to misuse the App, including by impersonating another person, spamming other users, scraping or harvesting data, or uploading unlawful or malicious content.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
5 Communications
By sharing your contact details with us — directly or through your Institution — you consent to receive communications from BetweenBreaks over email, WhatsApp, and LinkedIn regarding opportunities, events, and donation drives on behalf of the Institution. You may opt out at any time as described in Section 5 of our Privacy Policy.
6 Internships, Jobs, Mentorship and Guest Lectures
BetweenBreaks facilitates introductions between alumni and Institutions or students for internships, job postings, mentorship sessions, and guest lecture invitations.
- We do not guarantee the accuracy, legality, or outcome of any opportunity shared through the Services, and we are not a party to any resulting employment, internship, or mentorship arrangement.
- Users who participate in mentorship or guest lectures do so voluntarily and are solely responsible for the advice, views, or content they provide.
7 Alumni Events
Event details (date, venue, mode) are shared as provided by the Institution. BetweenBreaks is not liable for event cancellations, changes, or the conduct of attendees.
Where an RSVP or ticketing feature is used, additional event-specific terms and conditions may apply.
8 Donations
BetweenBreaks may enable alumni to make donations to a partner Institution through the platform.
- Recipient: Donations are made directly to the Institution or its designated account. BetweenBreaks may facilitate payment collection through third-party payment gateways but does not control, and is not responsible for, the Institution's use of donated funds.
- Tax Benefits: Any tax benefits (for example, under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961) depend on the Institution's own registrations and applicable law. BetweenBreaks makes no representation regarding tax deductibility.
- Receipts & Refunds: Donation receipts, acknowledgments, and refunds are governed by the relevant Institution's donation policy; BetweenBreaks will assist in facilitating these where feasible.
- Secure Processing: All payments are processed through secure third-party payment gateways. BetweenBreaks does not store your full card, UPI, or bank account details.
9 Fees
BetweenBreaks' services are generally provided to Institutions under a separate commercial agreement. Alumni Users are not charged a fee to use the App or to participate in engagement activities, unless expressly stated for a specific paid event or offering.
10 Intellectual Property
All content, trademarks (including the BetweenBreaks name and logo), software, algorithms, and platform design are owned by or licensed to BetweenBreaks and may not be copied, reproduced, reverse engineered, or used without our prior written permission.
11 User Content
Any content you submit — such as a mentor bio, event RSVP notes, or testimonial — may be used by BetweenBreaks and the relevant Institution solely for the purpose of operating the Services, including display within the App or in Institution communications, unless you request otherwise in writing.
12 Third-Party Platforms
Our use of WhatsApp and LinkedIn to communicate with you is subject to those platforms' own terms of service and privacy policies, which are beyond BetweenBreaks' control.
13 Disclaimer of Warranties
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any opportunity, event, or mentorship connection will meet your expectations.
14 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BetweenBreaks shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services, including loss arising from missed opportunities, donation disputes, or third-party platform outages. Our aggregate liability, if any, shall not exceed the fees (if any) paid by you to BetweenBreaks in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
15 Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold BetweenBreaks harmless from any claims, losses, or damages arising from your misuse of the Services or violation of these Terms.
16 Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App or Services at any time for violation of these Terms, at the request of the partner Institution, or for security reasons.
17 Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to applicable arbitration or escalation mechanisms, the courts in India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms.
18 Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Services after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
